Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope everyone has had another AWESOME week :-)  As of today, I am officially on spring break wooohooo!  I am so thankful for a week off, let me tell ya.  Today I am sharing some of my favorites this week.

[ONE] Braids are my favorite!  They always have been and I think they always will be.  Braiding my hair has always been an easy go-to and I've found some new styles on Pinterest that are to die for:

I think this one is so adorable!  However, there's one little problem.  I don't know if I'll be able to learn how to do this haha:

This double braid style is also super cute:

This one is also great for a more elegant occasion:

[TWO] These new BCBG Sandals are my favorite.  I am super excited for this snow to finally melt so I can break them out.  They're also super reasonable.

[Three] Target swimsuits are another favorite!  This section always gets me into trouble.  I just recently downloaded their cartwheel app and they have a coupon right now for 30% off all swimwear :-)

I loved these bottoms because I have a couple black tops I can mix-and-match with them:

I also recently picked up this suit.  I thought it'd be perfect for the 4th :-)

[FOUR] Psalm 139:14 is one of my favorites.  These words always help in overcoming my insecurities and remind me how God views each and every one of us:

[FIVE] These cocoa roasted almonds are a new a favorite.  A little random, but I had to share.  CAUTION: Once you start eating them, you won't be able to stop ;-)

Today's Link Ups:

Have a great weekend everyone :-)

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!  I hope everyone has had a good week ;-)  Today I am linking up again with Andrea, Erika and Narci to share a few of my favorites this week!

Finally being done with midterms is my favorite!  Next to finals week, I'd say midterms is one rough week for college students.  It's that point in the semester where the going gets tough, but as a senior I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  PRAISE THE LORD!

Last week I posted that my sister and I had been planning my mom's retirement party.  We had her party last weekend and it was a huge success.  My mom absolutely adored it and it was definitely one of my favorite parties I have planned!

...it was a travel-themed party and I thought it turned out to be adorable!  Great memories with great people :-)

Last weekend we also made a trip to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  My Aunt Ashley and cousin Dalton were in town from Oklahoma and were so excited to check it out.  Museums have always been a favorite and I had never been to this one!  We spent all day and we still weren't able to see everything.  I'm definitely going to be making a trip back and recommend it to anyone who hasn't been.

I think the dinosaur exhibit was one of our favorites...SO COOL:

The little ones enjoyed digging for fossils:

They looked so cute in their lab coats :-)

...and my heart just melted when they put on these little oxygen tanks when we went to the underwater exhibit:

I've been watching The Bachelor this season and from day 1 Britt's lipstick has been my favorite!  Recently I saw on her instagram that she wears Wet n Wild's "Red Velvet."  This week I picked some up for myself and I'm OBSESSED!  The best part was that it's only $1.99!  I've experimented with a lot of different lipsticks and for this price I was very surprised to find how long-lasting it is.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!  Thanks for stopping by ;-)

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday, y'all!  I am looking forward to another THREE DAY WEEKEND coming up.  This week has been midterms and let's just say I am beyond THANKFUL to be almost done.  Speaking of being thankful ;-)....I am linking up with some fabulous bloggers today, Maddie and Addie, to share what I am thankful for.  Sometimes life gets in the way and it is so easy to overlook all the ways God has blessed me.  This series has led me to focus on some of these things, rather than focusing on the negative distractions in life or getting bogged down about (most of the time) insignificant things.

Because my boyfriend Mitchell's birthday is tomorrow, I have been thinking a lot about how thankful I am for his existence.  Haha, but seriously though my life wouldn't be right without him.  These past couple days I have been going through a lot of our old photos and I am completely amazed by our love story and the way things have ended up for us.  We go all the way back to MSN chat in 8th grade (hahaha, I know).  The Lord has taken us on a crazy journey together as we chose different colleges after high school.  With graduation right around the corner, life is about to get really crazy and there's no one I'd rather have by my side.

Here's an old favorite from our High School Baccalaureate Ceremony in 2011 :-)

...and another pic from 2011 right before we headed to watch fireworks on the 4th:

...supporting the Hoosiers freshman year! #IUBB:

...and finally, a more recent picture (and new fav):

I am thankful for a man that pursues me, prays for me and loves me better than I could ever imagine.  I don't know how he does it sometimes, but I'm sure glad he does!  I am so excited to celebrate HIM this weekend and many more birthdays to come :-)

Oh I am such a cheesy romantic haha but really, thanks ;-)

Hope you all have a great rest of your Thursday!

Tuesday Ten: Favorite Beauty Products

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Hope you're all off to a good week so far!  Today I am sharing my top 10 favorite beauty products.  I am always trying new things so if you have any must-have products or tips, feel free to share :-)

1. Moroccanoil Treatment
I have loved this product for years now!  Definitely a must-have, especially if you're looking to grow your hair out.  It is also one of the best smelling products EVER.

Moroccanoil is a little on the pricey end for me and I've found a good alternative to be Healthy Sexy Hair's Soy Renewal Oil.

2. Leave-In Conditioner by sexyhair
This stuff has seriously saved my life and I'd have to say it's the beauty product I've used the most consistently.  My hair tends to tangle easily and this leave-in conditioner does the trick.

3. Energizing Serum by Merle Norman
My mom picked me up some of this a couple months ago and I've been hooked ever since.  I use it daily right before I moisturize.  Because my skin tends to get dry more easily, I love the increased hydration I've experienced while using this product.

4. Anti-Aging Night Cream by Merle Norman
My friend Julie started going through a quarter-life crisis this past semester and got me freaking out about wrinkles haha.  My mom also got me hooked on this light-weight eye cream.

5. Moisturizer by Origins
Out of all of the moisturizers I have tried, this one is by far my favorite.  This product is also super light-weight, and I am obsessed with the smell.

5. Perversion Mascara by Urban Decay
I am super picky when it comes to mascara and I've been using this for about 6 months now.  I love the full brush and it doesn't take very much to get your lashes lookin' fab ;-)

6. Naked2 Palette by Urban Decay
My sister got me this palette for my birthday almost a year ago and I've honestly never used another eyeshadow since.  I love Naked2 because of the natural colors and I tend to use brown tones on my eyes.  It's a little more on the expensive side, but I'd say it's worth the splurge!

7. All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay
My sister also introduced me to this makeup setting spray, which happens to be another one of my all-time favorites.  I just ran out, which means I trip to Sephora is in my near future.  This product has saved me through some meltdowns and even got me through The Fault In Our Stars if that tells you anything haha.

8. Blush by bareMinerals
I've also been using this loose powder blush from bareMinerals for awhile and I love it. It's super light-weight and easy to apply. They offer this blush in 17 great shades.

9. Lipstick by Bite Beauty
I am obsessed with lipstick and have found this brand to my favorite.  It's long lasting and there are so many amazing shades.

10. eos Lip Balm
I don't really think I have to explain why this one's a favorite...unless you haven't tried it, in which case you need to pick some up ASAP!  I finally tried the Sweet Mint flavor this week and I'm obsessed.

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday! Hope everyone is having a great week so far...we are ALMOST there! Today I am linking up with two of my favorite bloggers, Maddie and Addie to share a couple of the things I am thankful for!

This week I am thankful for my Oklahoma family.
For the most part, all of my family lives in Oklahoma (both sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins...).  I'd have to say it's one of my favorite states and growing up it's always been my favorite place to travel.  I don't get to see these people nearly enough so when I do, my heart is overwhelmed!

My Aunt Ashley and sweet cousin Dalton flew in last Sunday to visit. My mom picked them up from the airport and she brought them to visit us in Bloomington for the night because they had never been.  Their visit consisted of lunch at Yogi's and a trip to the store to stock up on groceries (this is one of my favorite things since coming to college by the way haha).

That night, we started our sleepover with one of our favorite classics: Sixteen Candles.  The boys were playing a game on the iPad and all of us girls managed to squeeze on the couch ;-)

In the morning the kiddos woke up and played some competitive Uno.  I think Zac forgot to say the word when he got down to one card and it cost him a potential win.  Poor guy haha!

Before they headed home and dropped me off at class we had a delicious lunch at the cutest little cafe:  The Runciple Spoon.  I think the little ones enjoyed it :-)

I got to head home last night to spend the rest of the week with Aunt Ash and Dalton before they head back to OK!

Speaking of the Oklahoma fam, here's a few of my favorite throwbacks (appropriate for Thursday, right?!)

Here's a picture with my "Pops and Grammie" a couple years ago when they were able to visit Indiana for Thanksgiving:

Here's a favorite of me and Dalt at Christmas two years ago:

Here's another picture of Dalton with one of our favorite Sooners, Sterling Shepard:

And last but not least, a selfie with Grammie from my trip to Oklahoma last summer haha:

Being home means homecooked meals (or dinner out on the town with the fam), and for that I am thankful!
Since I have been to college, I think one of the things I look forward to the most about coming home is the food!  However, this week I had some pretty great experiences with food while I was at school.

First, Mitch and I attmpted to make chicken tacos and fries and let's just say we forgot about the fries until it smelled like the place was going to fall to the ground:

However, I'd say we did much better when we whipped out these delicious (and adorable) nachos:

On Monday, Ashlee and I always work on lab reports and watch the Bachelor!  She told me she was bringing over pizza and showed up with two larges.  The best part is, we were the only ones eating haha.  I guess you can't pass up a buy 1, get 1 free!

Dont' forget to count your blessings this week :-)
